Northworks Architects & Planners is seeking a talented Interiors Associate to join our Philadelphia studio. This role is ideal for an early-career designer passionate about high-end residential environments, furnishings, and materiality.
The Interiors Associate will support the development and documentation of interior design concepts, with a particular focus on FF&E, furniture layouts, and finish coordination. Working closely with the Interiors team, you will contribute to the design and execution of thoughtful, well-crafted interior spaces across residential and hospitality projects.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of interior design concepts for residential and hospitality projects
- Assist with FF&E selection, furniture layouts, and finish palettes in collaboration with the Interiors team
- Research and document furniture, lighting, materials, and finishes
- Produce and coordinate interior drawing sets, including plans, elevations, schedules, and design documentation
- Develop FF&E schedules, finish schedules, and specification packages
- Assist in preparing design presentations, mood boards, and client materials
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and interior designers to maintain design intent throughout project development
- Support the team during construction documentation and project implementation
- 2–5 years of professional experience in interior design (residential experience preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from an accredited institution
- Experience in Revit and/or AutoCAD
- Experience with visualization tools such as Enscape, Lumion, or SketchUp preferred
- Strong interest in furniture, materials, finishes, and interior detailing
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks across project teams
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work full-time, in person, at our Philadelphia studio
