The ideal candidate has a depth of accounting and financial expertise with a track record of managing company financial rigor through periods of growth, establishing scalable processes, and maintaining disciplined cash and expense management. -Own and oversee day-to-day financial operations
-Establish and maintain shared financial standards, policies, and controls that support consistency and accountability across business channels
-Serve as a strategic finance partner to the business (Leadership + Fractional CFO), translating business vision and operating priorities into clear financial frameworks
-Support executive‐level decision‐making through forward‐looking analysis, scenario planning, and performance insights
-Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash‐flow management
-Manage core accounting systems and workflows (e.g., QuickBooks, Bill.com, payroll, expense management, credit cards, AP/AR)
-Ensure accurate, timely monthly closes and financial reconciliations
-Build and implement end-to-end inventory accounting & forecasting including reconciliations, costing, reserves, and controls
-Lead payroll administration and continuously improve efficiency and accuracy of accounting processes
-Lead the financial component of the annual budget planning process across Nickey Kehoe including revenue targets, margin goals, staffing plans, and overhead allocations
-Design and enforce internal controls, financial policies, and approval processes that protect assets and mitigate risk
-Prepare and present financial reporting for executive leadership and investors
-Develop dashboards and reporting tools that track KPIs, benchmarks, and trends across the business
-Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non‐finance leaders

-Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA required
-Minimum of 8+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance
-Prior experience as a Controller or Finance lead in retail and/or manufacturing
-Proven knowledge in inventory accounting and cost management
-Experience with financial reporting requirements and preparing Board/ investor presentations
-Keen ability to track budgeted expenses and analyze variances
-Exceptional knowledge of accounting, finance, budgeting, cost control principles, and GAAP
-Experience in managing payroll and benefits, with focus on streamlining accounting processes
-Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting
-Self-starter with a data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making
-Ability to work well with Founders and senior executives as well as lead other team members
