I am hiring my first Design Assistant to work directly with me across drawing production, materials and sourcing, procurement and presentation support, and marketing. This is a part-time role of 20 to 25 hours per week, hybrid, with the majority of hours in the Chappaqua studio.
Job Responsibilities
Drawing and technical production
Produce plans, elevations, and construction-ready drawings in SketchUp and AutoCAD from my markups and direction
Build out furniture layouts, millwork elevations, lighting and electrical plans, and shop drawings
Materials and sourcing
Organize and maintain the firm's materials library across fabric, tile, stone, paint, and finish samples
Research and dig for the right product or solution to meet each design objective
Bring an eye for color, pattern, scale, and proportion to product selection and to curating a holistic vision for each space
Procurement and presentation support
Prepare purchase orders, track shipments and lead times, and follow up with vendors and trades under my direction
Pull images, format decks, and assemble FF&E specification sheets for client meetings
Marketing
Keep the firm's Squarespace website current with new project photography and content
Plan and post Instagram content
Capture photo and video content during studio and site work for use across social media
One to three years of experience in residential interior design, architecture, or a closely related field
Fluency in SketchUp and AutoCAD, with the ability to produce construction-ready drawings from direction
A strong eye for color, pattern, scale, and proportion, and an interest in curating a holistic vision for a space
A natural researcher who enjoys digging for the best product or solution
Strong organizational instincts and a feel for systems, libraries, and process
Comfort working in Google Workspace, presentation tools, Squarespace, and Instagram
Clear, professional communication with clients, vendors, and trades
Interest in working closely with one principal designer
A degree in interior design, architecture, or a related field is preferred but not required
Compensation: $25 to $40 per hour, depending on experience. Start date: targeting July or August 2026.

My approach is layered, thoughtful, and built around the way people actually live. The work is not trend-driven and it is not about styling rooms for a photograph. It is about designing homes that feel personal, cohesive, and connected to the people living in them. A home should support daily routines and family life as much as it should look considered, and the best projects do both.
I lead each project from concept through installation. That includes shaping the design direction, sourcing materials and furnishings, producing the drawings, managing the moving parts, and coordinating closely with contractors, vendors, and trades. Clients come to me for a clear point of view, a hands-on process, and a finished home that feels grounded in who they are rather than pulled from a catalog.
