We’re only halfway through summer, but if the latest launches are any indication, the design world is already turning its attention to fall. From eco-friendly striped slipcovers to light-enhancing table lamps, here are some can’t-miss releases from the past week.
Heath Ceramics debuted its very first lighting collection. Inspired by studio director Tung Chiang’s childhood memories of capturing fireflies, the launch features three hand-thrown designs offered in two gradient glazes, including the ombre Bloom pendant and the Stack table lamp, which comes in two sizes and showcases a sleek striated motif that evokes dappled light.
Sabai introduced two fresh collections into its growing portfolio of sustainable furnishings. The first, Bacana, includes wide-armed, planklike chairs with exposed Brazilian wood frames, while the Striped Hemp Blend line offers a pair colorfully banded slipcovers designed to fit an assortment of the brand’s eco-conscious seating and ottoman styles.
Lunada Bay Tile unveiled the eye-catching Mistral collection. The series reimagines traditional Moroccan zellige tiles into four artfully modern hand-chiseled patterns in multiple polychromatic colorways, ranging from the Byzantine-style Bab and the geometric Reverie to the art deco-esque Kilim and the aptly named Trapezium.
Etro Home Interiors’ Quiltana line is an ode to 1960s maximalism. The collection boasts three fashion-forward furniture designs embellished in retro, granny-square quilted fabrics, including a gently curved armchair, a fully upholstered bedframe and a puffy low-profile sofa.
Santa & Cole expanded its radiant Lámina line with a brand-new lighting family. The collection, named Lámina Dorada, draws from Antoni Arola’s original Lámina pendant design and consists of four clean-lined, symmetrical fixtures—including table, floor, pendant and wall lamps—with dimmable LED lights and metallic shades that help reflect light around a room.
Collagerie launched an insanely chic collaboration with Zara Home. Drawing from artist Milton Avery’s bold paint palette, the sunbaked collection introduces more than four dozen color-blocked pieces designed by Collagerie co-founder Lucinda Chambers, such as a ceiling lamp composed of polychromatic cords and a wooden stool with a braided seat and cobalt blue legs.
RH debuted the Nazaré collection by Maresca Textiles. Available in multiple shapes and colorways, the collaboration pays tribute to Portuguese architecture and spans dozens of outdoor-safe, jacquard-woven chenille pillow covers (and a handful of beach towels) that are adorned in contemporary block-print motifs. Highlights include the delightfully dashed Stitched Stripe, the graphic Notched Stripe, and a highly touchable, layerable design dubbed Textured Solid.
Brian Patrick Flynn added two new designs to his wildly popular line for Crystorama. Along with the Alston three-light pendant, a matte-finished stunner with an antique gold-leafed interior, the Atlanta designer introduced Tori, a single-light pendant with a high-contrast two-tone shade.
Caesarstone rolled out the OOAK collection, featuring 14 natural-stone-inspired surfaces. In addition to the striking copper-veined Isobellia, standouts from the scratch-resistant quartz and porcelain series include the warm white Marbannova, the earthy Mosstone and the crackled Celestial Sky.
Dumæ, which is run by True Religion co-founder Kym Gold, released a characterful series of hand-sculpted ceramic designs called Sora. The 45-piece collection marks the Los Angeles–based brand’s first foray into lighting and offers everything from the amorphic Yvette pendant and the bulbous Mona vessels to the undulating Asa tray and a modern menorah named Shayna.
