Patrick Fox’s Celtic assortment of violet-veined marble, blush Belgian linen and sage green paint

In the BOH series What I Love, we’re asking designers to build us a mood board of what’s inspiring them right now.

Patrick Fox remembers where he came from. The designer at New York–based Crafted Interiors grew up in Ireland, and often draws inspiration from the country’s ever-changing seasons when working on a project. “I will never forget my roots,” he tells Business of Home.

For his current flat lay, Fox employed a mix of warm earth tones and soft cool hues to evoke everything from the fresh floral pinks of spring and summer to the misty greenish grays of fall and winter. “Each element reflects the natural beauty and dynamic weather patterns that define Ireland’s unique landscape throughout the year,” he says.

An impressive range of tactile organic materials—think solid oak, silk, stone and wool—ultimately pulls the scheme together. “I love striking the elegant balance between meticulous design and unrestrained nature,” says Fox. “It creates a polished yet serene aesthetic.”

Here, the designer breaks down the details, from custom carpets to crackle-glazed cocktail tables.
