Mimi Meacham believes that the divine is in the details. Whether it’s bee-shaped hardware or a block-printed floral fabric, the Houston-based founder of Marian Louise Design knows that thoughtful accents can make all the difference in an interior.
Currently dreaming of the summer months ahead, she sprinkled an assortment of zippy elements into her flat lay to evoke the sprightly spirit of the season. “I was inspired by the colors in my favorite refreshing drinks when the temperatures rise: an ice cold Topo Chico or home-made lemonade,” Meacham tells Business of Home. “Blue and yellow complement each other so well, and I just love the upbeat, fresh feeling these items convey.”
A well-balanced blend of dainty patterns and pastel tones ultimately draws the design together, while a range of natural materials helps ground the scheme. “The newness of spring and the ease of summer come alive in this array of textiles, finishes and trinkets,” says Meacham. “It feels happy, fresh and poppy.”
