The holidays are fast approaching, and design brands across the globe are gearing up for the occasion by offering a slew of furnishings and decor to cozy up your clients’ winter nests. From couture-inspired sofas to hand-painted wallpaper patterns, here are some of this week’s most extraordinary debuts.
Roman and Williams Guild unveiled a dozen dazzling new lighting designs in a breathtaking exhibition at the former New York Mercantile Exchange in Tribeca. Showcased alongside 100 of the brand’s bestselling fixtures, newcomers include the alabaster-and-brass Petra Egg Shade pendant, the cast bronze Lentium table lamp, and Porto, a handblown sconce outfitted in an aubergine-tinted rippled glass shade.
RH released the Alora collection by SoCal designer Lindye Galloway. The series—handcrafted from solid oak and punctuated by gently curved corners and reeded door fronts—offers everything from sideboards and media consoles to desks, dressers, bar cabinets and nightstands, all available in four wire-brushed finishes.
Pittsburgh-based artist Cara George premiered Otea, her brand-new textiles studio. The debut collection, named The Rendezvous, is available in multiple colorways and features eight maximalist fabric and wallpaper patterns based on original watercolor paintings, such as the ombre Plaid, the hand-drawn Canavese Stripe and the block-print-like Paisley.
The Invisible Collection’s Jacques Doucet series is a love letter to the legendary fashion designer. Crafted by French design duo Garcé & Dimofski, the 20-piece line pays homage to the haute couture pioneer’s elegant garments, as well as his famed art collection. Highlights range from the sinuous Avenue Du Bois sofa and the iconic Rose stool to the surrealistic Aragon table lamp and the geometric Iribe wall light.
Martyn Lawrence Bullard dropped his second line for The Shade Store. The Palm Springs–inspired collection spans 10 texture-infused windowcoverings offered in an assortment of soft, earthy hues, with standouts such as the plaidlike Desert Tweed, the nubby Mirador, the striated Cactus Weave and the patchworkesque Andreas.
Annie Downing debuted ADI Wallpaper, her very first wallcovering collection. The launch introduces 25 spirited designs across five playful motifs—including the olive-dotted Antipasto and the boldly banded Stripe Up Your Life—which are available in an array of vibrant colorways and printed on your choice of grasscloth or fibrous nonwoven paper.
Los Angeles–based ceramist Analuisa Corrigan launched a delightful collection called Cocktail. An homage to the glitzy motifs of the jazz era, the line features three lamps (desk, table and floor) adorned in hand-coiled matte black bases and dust-ruffle-trimmed silk-blend shades fashioned from upcycled deadstock fabrics.
McGee & Co. rolled out its latest collection just ahead of winter. The extensive launch spans hundreds of chic, versatile designs adorned in timeless details, including the barrel-backed Byron chair, the leather-wrapped Greely stool, the terra cotta Chelsea planter, and the Lucille English roll-arm sofa, a customizable beauty with tapered legs.
Artfully Walls released a carefully curated selection of tapestries. The debut offers more than three dozen artist-painted designs cast on lightweight fiber paper with sleek hanging rods for easy installation. Among the eye-catchers are the cloud-filled Caitlin’s Beach by Tessa Brown and Helli Luck’s antique Venetian stucco–style Free As a Bird.
Colony welcomed Kawabi to its esteemed roster of independent designers. Along with the architectural Souvenir series, offerings from the New York lighting studio include the bean-shaped Legume lamp and the Cascade pendant, an asymmetrical stunner inspired by bonsai trees.
