Job Description

Honey Collins Interiors is a boutique, high-end residential interior design firm seeking a highly organized and motivated Design Assistant to join our growing team. This is a full-time, in-office position based in our Manchester-by-the-Sea/Boston studio and offers hands-on exposure to all phases of the interior design process.
The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of experience in interior design or a related field and thrives in a fast-paced, detail-driven studio environment. This role requires strong technical skills, exceptional organization, clear communication, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. Candidates should be polished, dependable, and eager to learn while supporting both the design and operational needs of the studio.
DAY-TO-DAY DUTIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
* Assist in the preparation of client presentations and materials for design meetings and project site visits
* Attend client, contractor, and vendor meetings; take thorough, accurate notes and distribute summaries to the team as needed
* Visit local showrooms to pull memos and finish samples based on the design team’s direction
* Support the design team with CAD drawings; experience designing and producing custom furniture, millwork, and lighting is a plus
* Assist with sourcing, pricing, and specifying furniture, lighting, finishes, textiles, and antiques
* Assist with the organization and maintenance of the materials library, including logging, labeling, filing, and returning samples
* Coordinate shipping, freight, and logistics for samples, furnishings, and project materials
* Execute pickups and deliveries of drawings, client materials, and installation items to vendors, job sites, and other locations as needed
* Organize, coordinate, and support installations; provide on-site assistance including managing incoming shipments and resolving immediate site or shipping issues
* Support the daily flow of the office, including managing the Principal’s calendar, coordinating projec

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design preferred
* 1–2 years of experience in interior design or a related field
* Highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities
* Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly document and relay information to clients, vendors, and internal teams
* Professional, proactive, and dependable with strong follow-through
* Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented studio environment
* Comfortable interfacing with clients, architects, contractors, and vendors
* Eager to learn, adaptable, and open to new tools, processes, and responsibilities
* Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and Dropbox
* Knowledge of Houzz Pro or similar project management software is a plus
* Working knowledge of fabric, furniture, lighting, and trade vendors
* Must be local to the Boston area and able to work daily from our Manchester-by-the-Sea studio with reliable transportation
