On September 30, an intimate group of designers and members of the press gathered at Carne Mare, a restaurant under the Brooklyn Bridge, to celebrate the launch of the New Romantics collection by Martin Brudnizki of Martin Brudnizki Design Studio for The Rug Company.
Eighteen guests, including Young Huh, Ghislaine Viñas, Rayman Boozer, Nicole Fuller and Alexander Yulish, Anna Beeber, Michelle Gerson, Sandra Nunnerley, Will Cooper, Maddie O’Malley, Tom Delavan, Dan Rubinstein, Pamela Jaccarino, Kathryn Given, Dayle Wood and Dennis Scully, enjoyed the dinner party in a private dining room appointed with rugs from the collection. The place settings, menus and name cards were decorated with a custom Ruffle Rouge border motif, in a nod to the designs underfoot.
“We’re happy to have been able to celebrate [the launch of] ‘New Romantics’ by Martin Brudnizki in-person,” said James Seuss, CEO of The Rug Company. “His five border rug designs are unique to our offering and highly customizable. It’s great to have events again, being together and laughing after so long apart to humanize it a bit! We’re thrilled Martin could join us for the launch at What’s New, What’s Next and later at MBDS-designed Carne Mare.”
