Flatiron 27 is hiring an Interior Designer to join our team based in NYC. The Designer will be responsible for working within a team environment, should be comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously, helping clients of various size and scale to achieve their design goals. Must have a positive attitude and be a good team player!
RESPONSIBILITIES + DUTIES
* Assisting Designers on all project goals through all design phases.
* Independently formulate designs for projects in the hamptons, New York City and Connecticut.
* Develop, prepare and produce CAD drawings and furniture plans, presentations and schedules.
* Work independently on sourcing and pricing furniture and materials for clients and create client proposals.
* Take initiative, problem solve, collaborate & communicate effectively with the Design Team.
* Prioritize tasks and coordinate completion of multiple projects.
* Assist the team in sourcing finishes, fixtures, furnishings, fabrics, lighting and accessories.
* Assist and prepare for site visits, client meetings, and furniture installations.
* Maintaining FF&E and Construction schedules, budgets, and design books.
* Assist the team in purchasing materials, furniture, fixtures, and accessories.
* Assist the team in verifying accuracy of orders and resolve discrepancies with vendors.
* Assist the team with tracking shipments to ensure timely delivery of all items.
* Liaising with contractors, vendors, and receiving warehouses.
* Take initiative, problem solve, collaborate & communicate effectively with the Design Team.
* Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
* Must be detail oriented.
* Amazing communication and interpersonal skills, plus the ability to be assertive and clear with vendors and subcontractors.
* Excellent knowledge of Google Drive including slides, sheets and Docs.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, and SketchUp
* Portfolio that demonstrates solid design sensibility and understanding of materials and furnishings.
* Strong written and communication skills + confidence communicating with clients, vendors and subcontractors.
* 2–4 years full-time experience at an architecture or interior design firm.
