It’s the final Friday of the winter season, and if the latest launches are any indication, it’s going to be a fun spring. From sculptural side chairs to tiger-striped wallcoverings, kick back with these standouts from the recent round of releases.
Fromental called on British-American fashion designer Harris Reed to create his first line of wallcoverings. The collab boasts eight hand-painted patterns in multiple colorways inspired by Reed’s spring runway collection—which featured garments made from Fromental fabrics. The couture-quality designs include the conspicuously striped Ambiguous Tiger and the Rays of Plumeria with its radiating leaves.
Sarah Sherman Samuel released Suite de Sarah, her latest line for Lulu and Georgia. Highlights from the collection, which spans furniture, lighting, bathroom accessories and bedding, include the undulating Valley accent chair; the geometric Soren six-drawer dresser; and Anneli, an iron canopy bed with a wavy upholstered headboard.
Sunbrella expanded its ongoing collaboration with Michigan artist Kelly Ventura. Based on original watercolor paintings, high-performing introductions include the subtly banded Drift, the graphic Cricket and the botanical Bramble, each available in multiple colorways.
John Pomp’s Slumped series is a love letter to Shiro Kuramata’s classic Ghost lamp. The ethereal LED collection offers a sconce and a multipendant chandelier composed of clean-lined patinated metal arms and delicate etched glass shades that appear to float in thin air.
Philadelphia textile studio Galbraith & Paul added three delightful upholstery patterns to its portfolio of ready-to-ship fabrics. Available in multiple colorways and printed to order on linen, Casita features a distressed medallion motif inspired by antique tiles; Palermo provides a tailored ticking stripe; and Waves is a sinuously lined design with rhythm and movement.
Hennepin Made’s Moraine collection is an ode to Minnesota’s glacial landscapes. Available in eight earthy tints and seven metal finishes, the launch offers five spherical handblown glass designs inspired by the rolling curves of icy landforms, including a flush mount, two styles of pendants and sconces, and three large-scale installations.
New York–based children’s furniture brand Nestig unveiled an adult-friendly line of design-savvy nursery chairs, gliders and ottomans. Offered in a plethora of plush fabrics, ranging from blush pink chenilles to creamy boucles and striped cottons, noteworthy newcomers include the voluptuous Cosma swivel glider; the ultramodern Starling rocking chair; and Drift, a reclining glider with a tall back and rolled armrests.
CB2 debuted its latest outdoor collection. The launch introduces 98 al fresco furnishings by an array of esteemed designers, including the Danish midcentury–charged Tide sun lounger by London’s Studio Anansi; the hand-welded, aluminum-framed Bay sofa by Barcelona’s Mermelada Estudio; and a sun-washed cast-resin coffee table by Melbourne-based Vuue.
French woodworker Ferréol Babin’s “In a Landscape” is on display at Friedman Benda in New York through April 18. The shoppable exhibition features 14 highly collectible handcrafted furnishings adorned in bucolic motifs, such as the painted oak Lands cabinets; the ladder-like Conference of the Birds chairs; and a treetop-like bench named Forest that’s bedecked in a canopy of round green cushions.
Aux Abris released Curious Eve in collaboration with Eve Ashcraft. The collection translates an assortment of the painter and architectural color expert’s hand-drawn motifs into five whimsical woven wallcoverings, including the metallic grasscloth Aqua Terra; the art deco Elysium; the colored-silk Luminous Lillies; the trellis-like Serpentine Rose; and Seaside Singerie, a six-panel landscape mural with shimmery shagreen hills and parasol-shaded monkeys.
At Legends of Design Los Angeles, Erik Lindström rolled out four hand-knotted Himalayan wool rugs in honor of his new L.A. showroom: Infinity offers a striated ombre pattern; Disco is a bold polka-dotted design; Helix features a swirling silk-accented motif; and Synth showcases a gradient-hued grid scheme.
Tillett Textiles’s spring collection has arrived at Schumacher. Standouts from the hand-printed series, which features some of the former’s most iconic archival patterns, include the painterly Geranium; the Bunny Mellon–beloved Butterflies; the gestural Matisse; and Strawberry Fields, a fruit-filled floral that was a favorite of Albert Hadley.
