With summer fully underway, many New York designers have traded their fan decks for beach decks, packed up and headed east to the Hamptons, ready for a respite from the grind of the city. But trading the five boroughs for the shores of Long Island doesn’t mean leaving the design world behind. Read on for BOH’s guide to all the design pop-ups happening in the Hamptons this summer.
Southampton
Despite the recent shakeup at Traditional Home, the magazine’s Hamptons Designer Showhouse is still on and set to feature an impressive roster of designers, including Leta Austin Foster, Alexa Hampton, John Robshaw and Danielle Rollins. The proceeds of the showhouse, which opens to the public on July 21, benefit the Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. 66 Rosko Lane. Open 7 days a week, 11 a.m to 5 p.m., through September 2.
Holiday House Hamptons, presented by Hamptons Cottages & Gardens, will return this year for its fourth edition in Water Mill. Hosted and organized by interior designer Iris Dankner, the designer showhouse, located in a newly built 12,500-square-foot estate, will feature more than 20 top interior designers creating rooms loosely inspired by holiday themes. Chaired by design heavyweights Kristen Farrell, Thom Filicia, Carson Kressley and Amy Lau, the house opens to the public on June 23 with proceeds benefiting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. 90 Wild Goose Lane. British brand The White Company is cementing its stateside presence with a pop-up in Southampton. The store features a selection of everything from bed linens and homewares to fragrances and chic clothing, all in the crisp, simple palettes the brand is known for. 52 Jobs Lane. Open 7 days a week, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Snowe is taking its clean, minimal aesthetic to the beach with a Southampton store. Events will be hosted at the space throughout the summer, and for customers who prefer a more guided shopping experience, appointments are available. 50 Main Street. Open 7 days a week, with varying hours.
Sag harbor
Goop’s MRKT returns to the Hamptons this summer at a general store in Sag Harbor that’s been redecorated by ASH NYC. Homepolish took on the store’s patio and will offer personal design consultations to customers throughout the summer. The store will offer a beachy selection of Goop-y goods ranging from skincare to housewares, in addition to hosting events like tarot card readings and gluten-free mixology classes. 4 Bay Street. Domino is launching its first-ever Hamptons ShopHouse, an entirely shoppable home, powered by new user-friendly Stage & Shop app, which allows visitors to shop the products on the spot. Created in partnership with Compass, the ShopHouse, located in a historic Sag Harbor house and designed by Katie Lydon, will be open to prospective buyers by appointment only with Compass’ Breitenbach Team on July 20 and be revealed at a VIP event on July 19. 169 Division Street.
East hampton
One of the largest shows of its kind on the East End, the 13th-annual East Hampton Antiques & Design Show returns on July 19, with Simon Doonan and Jonathan Adler serving as honorary co-chairmen. The show will feature over 60 vendors selling everything from decor to antique furniture, jewelry and textiles. Mulford Farm, 10 James Lane. July 19 to 21, hours vary.
Room & Board is getting in on the pop-up game pioneered by digital-first brands like Serena & Lily and One Kings Lane, both of whom now boast permanent brick-and-mortar locations in the Hamptons. “We are going into this as an experiment to see how we can attract new customers to our brand and re-engage existing customers by being front and center in the Village of East Hampton,” Lee Testa, Room & Board regional retail market manager, told Business of Home. 51 Newtown Lane. St. Frank will be open at The Cottage in East Hampton, offering a selection of textiles, furniture and decor accessories. 78 Main St. Open Wednesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
