At an intimate gathering in SoHo, designers and industry insiders attended the Makers Alliance panel, featuring Dave Dawson of The Urban Electric Co. and Scott Hudson of Henrybuilt. Dawson founded the Makers Alliance in 2018 and Hudson is one of the original members of the group. Together, they chatted with Business of Home’s Dennis Scully in an hourlong discussion centered around modern manufacturing, company culture and the importance of peer-to-peer connection.
The intimate group of 40 guests included Hadley Keller, Benjamin Reynaert, Heather Smith MacIsaac, color expert Eve Ashcraft, Brad Ford, Ben Bradley, Amy Aidinis Hirsch, Steph and Pamela Katch from Katch I.D., Jillian O’Neill, and Mia Jung and Yi Huang of Ike Kligerman Barkley.
“It was so much fun to see this Makers Alliance collaboration come to life,” said Missy Hulsey, senior director of marketing for The Urban Electric Co. “We worked hand in hand with Scott, Molly [McDermott Walsh] and the whole Henrybuilt team to produce a flawless event. Thanks to Dennis and the team at Business of Home, we were were able to present a thoughtful and inspiring discussion centered on topics that we are jointly passionate about.”
This winter, The Urban Electric Co. will have a lighting installation on display at Henrybuilt’s SoHo showroom, the first of many Makers Alliance collaborations to come. The discussion was recorded for a special live episode of the Business of Home podcast.
