Benjamin Moore partnered with renowned designer Jiun Ho, the California Peninsula chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers, and South Bay Paints to host “Nagomi in Color,” an immersive design experience at Ho’s Sonoma County home and creative retreat. The gathering brought together members of the Bay Area design community to explore the relationship between paint, materiality and environment through the lens of hospitality, craftsmanship and thoughtful design. 

Set among rolling vineyards and sculptural gardens, Nagomi embodies the Japanese philosophy from which it takes its name, a concept rooted in balance, harmony and a sense of calm. Guests joined Ho and his partner and co-host, Cliff Caplan, for a personal tour of their property and its serene interiors, as the designer shared the stories behind the collection of furnishings gathered throughout decades of travel and creative exploration.

Painted exclusively in Benjamin Moore, Nagomi features Black Panther and Atrium White throughout the property, creating a timeless backdrop that allows the curated interiors, architecture and natural surroundings to shine. The residence is finished with Regal Select Exterior in Low Lustre and Aura Interior in Eggshell, reinforcing the role paint plays in shaping the experience of a space. The brand’s paint colors were further explored across the property through custom mood boards. As Benjamin Moore’s local retail partner, South Bay Paints helped bring the event to life, exemplifying the value of connecting designers with trusted product expertise and service.

The afternoon continued with a chef-led culinary session and seasonal lunch overlooking the Sonoma Valley landscape, giving designers the chance to connect and exchange ideas. Notable guests included Divya Vijayanandakumar, ASID California Peninsula president and principal of DVNK Design Studio; Gabe Connolly of South Bay Paints; and designers Andrea Halkovich of Sonoma Interiors, Bianca Harangus of Milana Design, Chris Nobriga and Cecilia Pinto of Interiors for Modern Living, Lisa Staprans of Staprans Design and Cindy Steele of Fleur de Lis Designs. 

“We always enjoy having the design community visit us at Nagomi,” said Ho. “We’ve developed the property’s buildings and gardens to entertain and cook for friends and family, indoors and out, no matter the season. It was glorious to have ASID here with Benjamin Moore when the garden was in full bloom and the rainbow of flowers, plants and vegetables was perfectly set against the backdrop of the Black Panther–painted structures.”

Combining design and shared experience, “Nagomi in Color” reflected Benjamin Moore’s ongoing commitment to fostering meaningful conversations within the industry and celebrating the transformative power of paint.
