Society Social launches The Keeping House with a festive Nantucket garden fete
Society Social celebrated the launch of its first sister brand, The Keeping House, with a festive gathering at the Nantucket home of BY Interiors co-founder Molly Young on July 15. The new textile and wallcovering label reclaims the idea of “keeping house”—once considered a chore—as “a joyful rebellion, a curated act of personal storytelling and design.”
Guests were invited to experience that philosophy through every charming detail of the setting, from the bunting cascading across the hedges to the custom ruffled slipcovers and tablecloths, all made of textiles from the debut collection. The result was a living expression of The Keeping House, a world where pattern, history and personal style come together to create spaces that feel collected.
The evening drew 75 guests from across the design and media worlds, including Christina Dandar of The Potted Boxwood; Hadley Keller Lloyd of the Design Leadership Network; Jennifer Lake of Style Charade; Rose Larkin and Christine Speare of de Gournay; Melinda Marquardt of The Vale London; Ashley Dodgen-McCormick of ASHA; design editor and stylist Robert Rufino; Kristen Schonwald Ryan of Nick Mele Fine Art; and Mary Shaffer Sealey of Weezie.
“Inspired by countless hours spent pouring over archival references, refining color stories, and obsessing over every dot, line and strike-off, the celebration echoed the same care stitched into each design,” said Roxy Owens, founder and creative director of Society Social and The Keeping House.
