Kate Figler Interiors is a Nashville based residential interior design firm with a small but growing team. Junior Designers must be good at multitasking, organized, energetic, eager to learn, cheerful and also be comfortable in a fast-paced environment. Junior Designers will contribute to the success of the firm by assisting with all aspects of design development, sourcing, client meetings/meeting preparation, technical drawings, maintaining an organized office/sample library as well as running errands for the firm. This job is a hybrid of both design work and office support and so candidates should be willing to “wear many hats.”
Tasks will include:
-Independently creating design concepts for projects based on Principal’s design vision
-General research and sourcing
-Prepare for client presentations by creating mood boards, floor plans, drawings and elevations
-Attend design presentations as needed
-Communicate with vendors on pricing and lead times
-Communicate selections and specifications with Procurement Manager when quoting selections for clients
-Type and upload meeting notes, project status, deliverables, etc. into Google Drive
-Maintain client bags (these include samples, CFA approvals, paperwork relevant to project, etc.)
-Read architectural plans and produce scaled sketches, drawings and room layouts
-Organize and manage sample library
-Visit showrooms/local vendors for selections and other design needs
-On site presence for deliveries when needed
-Assistance with errands, shipments, client deliverables and other office needs
Job Requirements:
-1-2 years of residential design experience
-Proficient in AutoCad and SketchUP – ability to develop floor plans and elevations
-Proficient in Google Workspace - must be prompt and utilize strong communication skills when responding to emails
-Ability to learn internal project management software (Houzz Pro, Airtable, Keynote)
-Must have knowledge of trade resources and vendors
-Experience selecting and specifying high end furnishings, lighting, hardware, floor/window coverings, surface materials and finishes
-Experience with quotes, proposals and budgets
-Excellent attention to detail and highly organized
-Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
-Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
-Must have valid driver’s license and insurance with reliable vehicle
-Have a positive, friendly, professional attitude and is eager to learn
