We are currently seeking a part-time Interior Design and Studio Assistant to support both the design studio and the principal designer on a day-to-day basis. This is a hybrid role: you'll be on-site in Mar Vista some days with the ability to work remotely others as the job evolves. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable with technical drawings and creative direction, and understands that the client experience is never secondary.
Responsibilities include drafting and interpreting floor plans and construction documents. I use Chief Architect which is integral to this firm. Additional duties include creating tear sheets and presentations, assisting on photoshoots, managing social media content, sourcing and organizing material samples, and supporting light personal assisting tasks such as scheduling, billing coordination, and occasional pick-ups or drop-offs. Staying current on AI tools and rendering technology relevant to interior design is expected and encouraged. If you want to grow, you’d be encouraged to do so. This is a 2-3 day, part time job to start, with room for more as it evolves. Compensation starts at $35/hr.
The ideal candidate has a formal background or professional experience in interior design or architecture, with hands-on proficiency in Chief Architect and/or AutoCAD: including the ability to read, draw, and interpret complex floor plans and construction documents. Familiarity with luxury residential design, high-end trade brands, and vendor relationships is strongly preferred.
Candidates must be fluent in Instagram and Pinterest for content creation and social media management, with broader marketing knowledge considered a plus. A working knowledge of current AI tools and rendering software as they apply to design practice is expected. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple active projects and timelines simultaneously are essential.
Professionalism is non-negotiable: in communication, presentation, and follow-through. Candidates must have a reliable personal vehicle and valid California driver's license, as local travel is required for this role. A personal laptop or computer capable of running design software is also required. Flexible availability for on-site studio days, field measurements, and occasional support is necessary.
