We design the gyms inside high-end homes and developments. We're looking for one sharp,
hungry person to draft, render, and build presentations alongside the founder — and grow into
leading projects of their own.
THE ROLE
Sportova designs and equips premium gym spaces — almost always the final piece inside a larger
renovation. Our work is design-driven but systematic: we work mostly within a set product collection,
occasionally stepping outside it, so the job is to execute a strong playbook beautifully and fast, not reinvent it
every time. You won't be doing heavy sourcing or chasing endless FF&E; — the product line answers most
of that. You'll work directly with the founder, who handles selling and client relationships. Your job is to make
the work look and feel exceptional.
An interior design background is a plus, but not required. We're open to creative and alternative paths
— we'll judge you far more on proven work and portfolio than on credentials.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
— Sit in on design calls — listen, absorb the brief, contribute where you can.
— Debrief with the founder, then get to work drafting layouts and concepts.
— Produce clean drawings, floor plans, and elevations.
— Build polished client presentations that sell the design and the product.
— Bring materiality to life for clients — finishes, and the occasional lighting or fixture selection (a light load,
not a full FF&E; job).
— Learn the basics of 3D rendering and grow that skill on real projects.
— Get deep on fitness, fitness equipment, and luxury gym design — and start recommending and selling
equipment from our line.
— Iterate quickly against founder review — this is a fast, feedback-driven loop.
REQUIRED
— Proficiency in CAD / Rayon — you can produce layout drawings, floor plans, and elevations.
— Ability to draft a clean, compelling design presentation.

— You understand visual brand language and can carry it through into your designs.
— Technical and coachable: you can take direction and run with it.
— Available during our business hours for calls — you can work flexibly otherwise, but you need to be
reachable and able to jump on a call when we do.
— Not looking for a traditional interior-design track — you want product, speed, and client exposure
instead.
NICE TO HAVE
A strong working knowledge of FF&E; and materiality is a real plus — we'd love someone who can bring
more depth here than we currently do, and help us give clients richer material detail. Also welcome:
SketchUp · 3D rendering experience · interest in fitness, product, or high-end residential spaces.
WHERE THIS GOES
You'll start drafting under close review. As your work and judgment prove out, you'll take on more —
contributing live on calls, then eventually owning client relationships and leading projects end to end.
This is a real path, not a filler gig.
THE TERMS
— This is an hourly, part-time role — paid for the hours you work, with no benefits.
— You'd be an independent contractor (1099), not a W-2 employee.
— You'll use your own laptop and equipment.

Sportova is a luxury fitness and home gym design studio based in New Canaan, Connecticut. We curate sculptural equipment and craft refined wellness spaces for private residences, boutique studios, hospitality environments, and design-led projects.

Sportova was founded by husband-and-wife team Sam Kimball and Madeleine Kimball to bring a more considered point of view to personal wellness spaces. We believe the gym should be treated with the same care as the kitchen, library, dressing room, or living room: planned with intention, edited for the way you move, and finished with materials that belong in the home.
Our work sits between fitness, interiors, and product curation. We source equipment with architectural presence, guide the layout and atmosphere of the room, and help clients create spaces that feel useful, beautiful, and lasting.
