We're hiring an experienced sales professional from the lighting, furniture, or home goods world to help lead A&D residential sales in the New York market. This is a full-time, in-office position based in our New York City showroom, with a mix of inside appointments and client visits across the city.
This role owns A&D relationships: winning new business, strengthening ties with existing accounts, and teaching designers what makes each collection worth specifying. Core responsibilities include:
- Build sales strategies that drive continued growth and exceed plans
- Partner with architects, interior designers, and decorators to develop new relationships and grow existing accounts
- Develop and maintain a territory account plan for the New York A&D market
- Organize client meetings in person, over video, or by phone to walk through project specifications
- Track leads and projects from the first inquiry through specification and order
- Prepare estimates and sales orders for clients
- Keep sample and finished libraries at client offices accurate and current
- Log client interactions and maintain pipeline accuracy in NetSuite CRM
- Forecast sales activity and share market and competitive insights with leadership
- Stay current with new designs, trends, and product launches so you can speak to the collection with authority
- Meet budget and time requirements on every project
- Work with Customer Service to troubleshoot problems and resolve complaints promptly
- Represent the brand at market appointments and domestic trade and networking events
- Host and support showroom events and studio visits for clients
- Share client feedback and market insights with the product and design teams
- Hit a minimum of ten client meetings or presentations per week
- Achieve monthly and annual bookings targets, and other metrics defined by management
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree (or has equivalent experience in design or architecture) and brings at least three years of outside sales experience working with architects and interior designers, including an established network of A&D relationships in New York. A background in luxury home décor is a strong plus. Other attributes for this position include:
- Willingness to develop in-depth knowledge of Roll & Hill products and partner brands
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A team-oriented approach to meeting goals and supporting sales
- Ability to travel within the region up to 50% of the time; valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
- Proficiency with email, web applications (Google Sheets/Workspace), NetSuite CRM (or similar sales tools), and Microsoft Office Suite
- A self-starter who genuinely enjoys taking care of clients
- Comfortable using Instagram and other social platforms to build client relationships and brand presence
Salary/commission range: $70,000–$110,000. commensurate with experience.
