Job Description

About the Role:
Alex Papachristidis Interiors is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. This full-time, in-office role is a key position supporting the firm’s principal and design team, as well as a roster of high-end interior design clients. The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple financial tasks with discretion and accuracy in a fast-paced, creative environment. This role reports directly to the principal of the firm.

Compensation includes salary and strong benefit package.

Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible accounts receivable and payable manage payroll, and coordinate business insurance
• Accurately enter and track all financial transactions using Account Edge and Studio Designer
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and petty cash balances
• Record credit card transactions, tax receipts, and client reimbursables
• Record and track bank deposits
• Prepare and issue invoices to clients and construction billing; follow up on outstanding payments
• Assist in tax filings for Everyday Elegance and Scott Styles
• Generate project-specific financial reports to support budgeting and planning
• Prepare monthly sales tax filings and quarterly tax submissions
• Writing and maintaining contracts for clients
• Communicate with vendors and clients regarding financial matters
• Collect, document, and reconcile petty cash
• Support firm outside accountants by providing necessary financial documentation and reports
• Monitor office expenses and manage operational payments (insurance, utilities, etc.)
• Assist with HR tasks
• Provide administrative support to principal as needed
• Collaborate with the design team to ensure accurate financial tracking of client projects
• Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and excellent service for high-end clientele

Job Requirements

Requirements:
• 3–5 years of professional bookkeeping experience required
• Experience in an interior design office strongly preferred
• Proficiency in Account Edge, Studio Designer, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and work independently under deadlines
• Proven reliability and discretion with sensitive information
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
