This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and highly motivated designer based in the Washington, DC area to join our team where you will work closely with our senior designer and principal to create unique and creative spaces for our clients. We are looking for a self-starter, team-oriented individual who is as comfortable working at home as they are in the office, as the job will have a mix of in-person and remote work. This role will be a hybrid of design and project management, being a great fit for someone who is eager to flex their creative as well as their organizational skills. Some of the most important qualities we are looking for is someone who takes initiative, is hardworking, confident, has strong communication skills, and impeccable attention to detail.

Key parts of the job include:
-Supporting day-to-day administrative operations like reviewing timesheets and coordinating team calendars
-Participating in our marketing efforts, including social media and website updates
-Assisting Principal and Senior Designer in developing client presentations
-Assisting Senior Designer in surveying new project sites
-Creating project renderings in Photoshop and/or SketchUp
-Drafting plans and elevations in AutoCAD
-Assisting in the administration of projects, including producing FF&E schedules and budget sheets
-Meeting vendors, contractors and trades on job sites
-Communicating with vendors and subcontractors
-Attending client and contractor meetings
-Sourcing furniture, lighting, decor and architectural finishes

Location: Hybrid, work from home some days and some days in the office (Kensington, MD) or on site at various project locations.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in the industry, and is willing to learn and participate in all aspects of a project from client consultation to the final installation. This position requires that you are in the DC area, have your own transportation, are proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and have some familiarity with the Google Suite (slides, sheets, pages). A bonus is familiarity with Houzz Pro.
Qualifications
Degree in Interior Design or Architecture
Has own transportation
Located in the DC area, but able to work from home
Proficient in AutoCAD, Google Suite and SketchUp
Self-starter, takes initiative and strong problem solving skills
Follows direction well, and strong attention to detail regarding design, communication and project execution
Ability to adhere to schedules and deadlines on multiple concurrent projects, while producing high quality, accurate work
Effective and efficient verbal and written communication skills
Excellent decision making and time management skills
Strong design aesthetic
Must be able to work effectively and efficiently with a team and individually
