New showrooms make their debut

Multiples is the trend for the latest showroom openings and announcements this season. Calligaris and B&B Italia are a couple brands that are opening, not one, not two, but three new locations, and the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center is welcoming four new brands. EAL has rounded up some of the top picks of showrooms opening in the United States and abroad.

EAST COAST

The Shade Store's new flagship location

The Shade Store opened its new flagship showroom in SoHo, in a space almost five times larger than the window treatment brand’s original location in that neighborhood. Boasting 2,400 square feet, the new space is showcasing new collections by Nate Berkus, The Novogratz and Ralph Lauren in an open floor plan. The showroom is now the largest among The Shade Store’s six New York City locations. (77 Wooster St., New York)

Calligaris showroom on the Upper East Side

Husband-and-wife design duo Niki and Shaokao Cheng opened their second Calligaris store in New York City earlier this month after debuting their first store in March. The 4,500-square-foot space will showcase the Italian furniture brand’s customizable furniture with designs spanning 90 years. The Chengs have owned BoConcept New York franchises for 14 years and have plans for a third Calligaris to open in September. (220 East 57th St., New York)

Designed by luminary Brad Ford with Atlas Industries involved in the planning and implementation, the new Hudson Company showroom showcases the FSC® Certified wood mill's gorgeous goods, among them, reclaimed and select harvet flooring, paneling, beams and molding. Their Manhattan outpost is one of two in New York; the other is located in Brooklyn. (5 East 20th Street, New York​)

Fermob at the New York Design Center

Fermob opened its first trade showroom at the New York Design Center. The French outdoor furniture company’s iconic designs can be spotted throughout New York City in Times Square, Bryant Park and Brooklyn Bridge Park. The showroom is open to industry professionals for both residential and commercial projects. (NYDC, 200 Lexington Avenue, Suite 414)

Serena & Lily is continuing its countrywide expansion in New Jersey, where the company plans to open its sixth retail outpost this fall. The Summit Design Shop will have a swatch wall with 300 textile patterns, rotating artwork, a workspace for interior designers, and design advisors on site to offer assistance on using Serena & Lily products. Roche Bobois is relocating its Manhasset, Long Island, showroom to a new space slated to open this month a few miles east in Roslyn’s shopping district. (1023 Northern Blvd., Roslyn, New York)

Interior designer Laura Michaels opened a new design studio this month, offering design services, custom collections and products for residential and commercial interiors. The 1,800-square-foot studio has products from Holly Hunt, Tom Dixon, Oly Studio, Baker and Kartell, among others. (3 Riversville Rd., Greenwich, CT)

ADAC is welcoming an array of new showrooms this season. ALNO Atlanta will have a soft opening next month, and the kitchen design center will be an authorized dealer of Miele, Gaggenau, Liebherr and Bosch (Suite 418). Showroom FiftyEight (Suite 426) and Up Country Home (Suite 207) are both carrying multiple lines of home furnishings, including Nathan Anthony and Lee Industries. And Phillip Jeffries has brought in a wide array of wallcoverings to the center (Suite 319). (351 Peachtree Hills Avenue NE, Atlanta)

MIDWEST

New showrooms make their debut
Rottet Collection Showroom

Interior architect Lauren Rottet opened a new showroom at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, Rottet Collection Showroom. Rottet, who has been designing commercial, residential and hospitality spaces for 25 years, has taken inspiration from art, fashion and commercial design for her collections that will be available in the new space. The showroom has multiple new collections, including the Float series: hardwood and acrylic sofas, chairs and coffee tables (Suite 3-107).

Artisan Electronics Group also joined the Mart, opening its first design showroom offering fully integrated electronic solutions in audio, video and lighting. The space is an immersive experience with cinema seating from CinemaTech and smart home entertainment systems from ELAN. The showroom will serve as a resource for designers and architects looking for seamless installations and high-end electronic solutions (Suite 1486). (222 Merchandise Mart Plaza, Chicago)

INTERNATIONAL

New showrooms make their debut
B&B Italia in Jakarta

Italian furniture brand B&B Italia has recently opened three new showrooms in Jakarta, Indonesia; Mexico City; and Lyon, France. Both the Jakarta and Mexico City locations are reminiscent of the brand’s outpost in Novedrate, Italy: an exhibition mood with white-and-black wallpaper, and a mix of architectural and material details. While the Lyon location is representative of B&B Italia’s flagship location on Madison Avenue location in New York. The 4,300-square-foot space has black ceilings, Italian stone floors and sophisticated metal mesh dividers.
