We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Design Assistant to support the Principal and design team across all aspects of high-end residential interior design projects. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, eager to learn, and interested in gaining experience across both the creative and operational sides of an interior design studio.
Candidates must be located in the NYC area.
Key Responsibilities:
-Assist with sourcing furniture, lighting, materials, finishes, fabrics, and accessories
-Organize client presentations, material boards, and design documentation
-Assist with FF&E, lighting, fabric, finish, and installation schedules
-Request pricing, samples, tear sheets, and product information from vendors and showrooms
-Communicate with vendors and showrooms regarding product details, lead times, availability, and order status
-Enter and maintain project items in Studio Designer, including product information, pricing, proposals, and order tracking
-Track samples, CFAs, finish approvals, and other project-related materials
-Assist with troubleshooting production, shipping, delivery, and installation issues
-Assist with site visits, installations, and styling as needed
-Support the Principal with day-to-day project needs across multiple active projects
-Based in the NYC area
-1–3 years of experience in an interior design studio; experience in high-end residential design preferred
-Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field preferred
-AutoCAD and other 3D programs is a plus
-Familiarity with Studio Designer is preferred; training can be provided for the right candidate
-Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Highly detail-oriented, resourceful, and comfortable problem-solving
-Professional and polished when communicating with vendors, showrooms, clients, and other members of the project team
-Eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced, high-end residential design studio
