Designer Bobby Berk and Coastal Shower Doors are partnering on a shower door collection, to debut at KBIS later this month. The new Insiders collection will also profile the work of other designers—Berk’s design, a minimalist modern look framed by the shower door brand’s anodized aluminum doors, is the first in the series. The collection aims to “transform shower doors from utility items to works of art,” according to the company.
The Insiders collection will be unveiled at the Design Milk X Modenus Social Lounge at KBIS on January 10 during a discussion on trends. “A desire to make everyday items beautiful is what inspired my career in design,” says Berk. “When I saw that Coastal was creating shower doors to define rooms and not just blend in, I knew this partnership would be a success. Our goal with The Insiders collaboration is to inspire people to express themselves in every detail of their space.”
Berk’s design will be available to order in the first quarter of this year via Coastal Shower Doors’ national dealer network. The relationship between the designer and the brand began early last year; Berk used Coastal’s Gridscape door in the Responsive Home project, a partnership between TRI Pointe Group’s Pardee Homes and Hanley Wood’s Builder magazine. That project won the 2016 Gold Nugget Award for Best Custom Home under 4,000 square feet.
“The Insiders collection is all about reimagining the shower door,” says Patrick Cobb, national accounts for Coastal Shower Doors. “With this collection, what was once a simple utility item, can now transform your bath space into something extraordinary. The shower door is no longer just a frame for ornamental tile work; here, we’re making the shower door the art and centerpiece of the bathroom.”
