Investment in sustainable design is on the rise, says “Green Giants” research from Interior Design magazine. The stats were compiled in October 2014 in the publication's 2015 Top 100 Giants survey where "giants" in the industry reported on sustainable design or certain products. Who are the giants? They’re defined as firms with at least 50 percent of projects meeting LEED guidelines, and a selection of them produce only LEED-conforming projects, including Daroff Design + DDI Architects, Fentress Architects, Flad Architects, Mancini-Duffy/TSC, Rapt Studio, TPG Architecture and VOA Associates.

There are other significant takeaways from the research: Square feet of green space design is up this year over both 2013 and 2014; total green design fees over the past three years, as well as the percentage of green products, have also been on the rise. LEED professionals are also more in demand, with 4,000 of the pros employed by Top 100 companies this year, in comparison to around 3,000 in 2013.
