Held on April 30, Decorative Center Houston’s eighth annual Stars of Design and fourth annual Stars on the Rise Awards honored a few of the industry’s leading luminaries. The ceremony, which took place at Houston’s Ground Floor Gallery, recognized up-and-coming designers with Stars on the Rise awards, and established industry professionals with Stars of Design awards.

As Charles S. Cohen, president and CEO of Design Center of the Americas said, “The Stars of Design honors professionals who have achieved distinguished recognition in various fields of design and Stars on the Rise celebrates the up-and-coming designers who have already made a significant mark. All of tonight’s honorees are highly regarded for their achievements and contributions to their professions.”

Holly Hunt received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Holly Hunt, a Texas native who oversees her eponymous design showrooms throughout the world, took home the Lifetime Achievement award, while Shafik Rifaat was honored in the Architecture category, Carol Glasser for Interior Design, Gary Moss for Landscape Design and Marcelyn McNeil for Art. Other Stars of Design Award winners include Linda Limb for Graphic Design, Katy Briscoe for Product Design and Libbie Masterson for Photography. Rising stars received recognition for excellence as well, with Nina Magon, Nicole Zarr, Kate Duckworth and Letecia Haywood taking top honors.

Decorative Center Houston is the Southwest’s preeminent design center, replete with residential design, wallcoverings, lighting solutions, kitchen and bath products, accessories, flooring and more, exclusively on view for design professionals throughout over 40 showrooms.
