The Charleston Symphony Orchestra League Designer Showhouse is celebrating four decades with partners Traditional Home and Charleston magazines. Nineteen designers from the Southeast will transform a historic home near the Charleston harbor, opening March 16. The home, built in 1840, has a Greek Revival facade, decorative plaster ceilings, and original moldings and fireplaces. This year’s chair is Julianne Taylor of Taylor Burke Home, and among the participating designers are Meg Caswell, Holly Hollingsworth Phillips and Cathy Austin.

This year's showhouse

“Charleston has long been viewed as an architectural and design haven,” says Taylor. “So it’s an incredible honor to be able to pull together our city’s talent and showcase it in one beautiful, quintessential setting.”

“As our largest fundraiser of the year, the CSOL Designer Showhouse is an all-hands-on-deck event,” says Becky Hilstad, president of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra League. “For the 40th anniversary, we’ve kicked it into high gear to produce the most successful house in our long history.”
