Job Description

The Wells Abbott Midwest Territory Sales Manager leads relationships with designers in the territory including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. The sales manager is experienced working with clients in the creative/design field, has a professional demeanor, high energy and driven to contribute to the success of the business.

Proven sales and new business development skills are essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail are needed to succeed. The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with clients, thrives as a multitasker, prioritizes customers’ needs by listening and exceeding expectations.

Based in the Midwest, accessible and amenable to travel, the outside sales manager joins a collaborative and supportive team that celebrate successes, support each other, and have fun with fantastic work-life balance.

Job Requirements

• Five or more years of demonstrated success as a sales leader at an interior design, architecture or design-driven brand or business.
• Entrepreneurial spirit, a professional demeanor, strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Experience fostering client relationships and partnerships.
• Passion for textiles, furniture, lighting, rugs, and the design industry.
• Elevates the customer experience through a mastery of product knowledge, company resources and marketing/sales programs.
• Capable of generating sales reports, quotes and orders.
• Executes a sales strategy to meet or exceed sales goals.
• Established book of business with designers in the Midwest territory and available to travel on a regular basis.
• Must be proficient in the Microsoft suite of products, CRM and Order-Track.

• Grow the existing business and develop new business in the Midwest territory. Generate leads through thoughtful, strategic, and consistent customer outreach.
• Schedule appointments with designers and travel within the territory to present new collections, road kits, and marketing materials.
• Utilize the Wells Abbott website to share brand product information, and adeptly search and filter items based on designer needs.
• Track sales metrics and prepare regular reports on sales performance.
• Develop leads and convert to orders. Use sample requests, designer aesthetic and project information to follow up with designers.
• Maintain a full understanding of all showroom products and a continued awareness of current design trends and industry events.
• Continue brand and product education and knowledge as new collections, products and designs are introduced to the marketplace via showrooms.
• Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote the company, its brands and generate leads.
