LLM Purchasing is seeking a part-time bookkeeper to join our team. This role is responsible for completing day-to-day bookkeeping and related financial services for a steady client roster of interior design clients. This role will begin part-time, with potential to move over to a full-time staff position. Applications should be made only through BOH.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
-Maintain client financial records in accounting softwares through monthly reconciliations and historical reconciliations; work with Proposals, POs, Invoices, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income, Expenses, General Ledger, and Sales Tax.
-Work with accounting information on a Cash Basis and Accrual Basis.
-Sync bank statements and enter transaction data in financial softwares on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis. Reconcile data on a monthly basis for all accounts.
-Prepare monthly financial statements and reports while ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Prepare other custom financial reports upon request.
-Manage priorities to close each month in an efficient manner.
-Handle large amounts of data entry for long term historical reconciliation projects.
-Assist with setting up new software accounts for clients - Chart of Accounts, sales tax rates, settings, and preferences.
-Prepare sales tax reports and file sales tax in various states.
-Use payroll software to prepare payroll reports and run payroll in various states.
-Identify and troubleshoot financial issues and software issues with the internal team.
-Communicate daily with various internal departments and team members.
-Be the first point of contact for clients to answer questions about financial coding, software issues, or project requests.
-Interact with clients with warmth and expertise by email, phone, and video conferencing.
-Data entry to assist our procurement team - Items, Pricing, POs, and Invoices.
The ideal candidate will be familiar with the intricacies of bookkeeping for the interior design industry, retail, or related industry. They will have a strong attention to detail and understanding of accounting and bookkeeping terminology and best practices. They will be proactive in their work, willing to share new ideas, and eager to contribute to the team!
Requirements:
3+ years experience in a bookkeeping or finance role in the interior design, retail, or related industry
Strong knowledge of accounting practices and the differences between Cash and Accrual accounting
General knowledge of US tax code and ability to read and interpret tax returns is a plus
Experience with accounting functions in the industry software Studio Designer. Training on advanced accounting functions in the software can be provided
Experience with other industry softwares including Design Manager and Houzz Pro/Ivy is a plus
Experience with QuickBooks software is a plus
Experience with payroll softwares including ADP, Justworks, and Gusto
Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Experience with Google Drive, especially Google Sheets
Strong organizational skills
Demonstrate strong attention to detail and uphold strict confidentiality standards when handling sensitive information
Ability to self-direct work and manage competing and shifting priorities
Confidence and clarity when interacting with clients
