Part-Time Renewable Contract

This is a flexible in-office (NYC) position, with possible site visits, as necessary, in the greater NYC area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organized candidate with an interest in participating hands-on in the practical application of Architecture & Interior Design practices; it gives an entry to the understanding of how projects develop and resolve, and what skills are demanded of successful players in the design world.

Current projects involve new construction, major renovation, and interior design. Additionally, we offer curatorial services and connoisseurship in fine and decorative arts.

This position is compensated hourly, and flexible in schedule.

A bachelor’s degree is required, and interest in, and enthusiasm for, design is critical. Position available for immediate hire. Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive Home Books covering floor plans, furniture and lighting plans, and finish schedules
• Assist in client meeting preparation
• Conduct design research and sourcing, including regular visits to the D&D Building
• Interpret floor plans and architectural drawings to determine dimensions, furniture layouts, and purchasing lists
• Manage vendor communications, track lead times, and oversee quotes
• Coordinate with contractors on paint selections, wallpaper quantities, and on-site design details
• Oversee shipment, delivery, and installation logistics; troubleshoot delays and liaise with receivers and installers
• Support administrative and design staff

Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable engaging with clients, vendors, contractors, and design staff
• Knowledge of design terminology and familiarity with architectural drawings
• Proficiency in Excel and Google Workspace
• Proactive problem-solver with a detail-oriented approach and genuine passion for design
