Job Description

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Spearhead projects from the concept design phase through final completion, while acting as the main point of contact with clients and all necessary trades
- Collaborate with the principal on the overall vision of each assigned project
- Prepare and present client presentations with creative sourcing and advanced visualization techniques
- Provide design leadership with the project team, including the ability to direct and evaluate design options based on client-driven criteria
- This person should be able to collaborate seamlessly with clients, as well as other designers, architects, contractors, fabricators, artisans, and developers on multiple projects
- Work hand and hand with our team’s project manager to deliver beautiful spaces with a high level of service required by our clients
- Responsible for material sourcing and specification, custom furniture design, visual research, furniture sourcing, graphic and visual presentations, in addition to building budgets and project timelines
- Creating project documentation including the submission of a full drawing set, specification writing, schedules, and construction administration

Job Requirements

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in interior design or architectural design
- Degree from an accredited school
- Passion for design and an eye for detail
- Confident and polished presentation skills
- Experience executing the full design process including Concept, Schematic, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction Administration, Procurement, and Installation
- High proficiency in AutoCad, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), SketchUp and Google Suite
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a flexible working style and a willingness to adapt to the daily needs of the principal and design team
- Experience working with high profile clientele
- Excellent problem-solving, analytic, and organizational skills
- High-level of integrity and dependability
- Detail oriented and extremely organized
- Ability to prioritize and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously
- Confident, proactive, able to anticipate the next steps forward
- A problem-solver and “do-er”; no task is too small
- Proven ability to see a task through to completion
- Ability to work in person in New York City
