Job Description

Chroma is looking for a driven and passionate Senior Interior Designer with 8+ years in high-end, residential design to join our team. The ideal candidate is a creative visionary, a motivated self-starter with strong leadership skills who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment. He/She/They will be a core member of an emerging design studio, new on the scene, positioned to grow, creating artful, cutting-edge environments that push the boundaries of residential design.

Job Requirements

Technical Skills
– Hand sketching and rendering
– AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), SketchUp and Microsoft Office Suite, and Studio Designer
– Knowledge of and proven experience with portfolio examples of the full high-end residential design process including Concept, Schematic, Design Development, Construction-Level Documentation, Construction Administration, Procurement, and Installation

Research & Design Skills
– Knowledge of design, architecture, and art history
– Creativity in sourcing and design concepts
– Working closely with the Design Director and Creative Partner to ensure projects possess the core of Chroma’s design language with an understanding of Chroma's design standards

Project Management Skills
– Ensuring projects are completed to Chroma standards effectively, efficiently, on-time and on-budget by maintaining budgets and project timelines

Vendor Communication Skills
– Collaborating with other designers, architects, contractors, fabricators, artisans, owner's representatives, and landscape architects as required on multiple projects utilizing the Chroma voice, enthusiastic, knowledgable, kind, and clear

Client Communication & Experience
– Managing an inspiring client experience utilizing the Chroma voice including weekly doses of design inspiration, coupled with expectation setting for design meetings, budgets, and project milestones. Customer service-focused communication at all times under all circumstances

Chroma Team Management Skills
– Overseeing a design team by forecasting, delegating, and executing work and tasks accordingly
– Responsible for mentoring, teaching, and training
– Adapting to the daily needs of full project teams and providing enthusiastic support
– Clear and kind communication with teammates at all times and under all circumstances
