The Senior Designer is a creative and project leader responsible for guiding high-end residential interior design projects from concept through installation. Working closely with the Principal, design team, procurement team, and operations leadership, this role combines exceptional design execution with client leadership, team mentorship, and project oversight.
The ideal candidate brings strong design judgment, confidence managing complex projects and clients, and a collaborative approach to leadership. This individual will play an important role in helping shape the next chapter of a growing high-end residential design firm.
Project Responsibilities:
- Lead residential projects from concept development through installation under the creative direction of the Principal.
- Develop and present design concepts, furniture plans, finish selections, and drawing packages.
- Oversee project execution including FF&E specifications, proposal review, construction coordination, procurement collaboration, and installation planning.
- Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact and maintain clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Represent the firm at on-site meetings with clients, contractors, consultants, architects, and vendors.
- Identify project challenges proactively and develop thoughtful solutions while maintaining project momentum.
- Mentor and grow the design team through effective delegation, knowledge-sharing, and professional development.
Design & Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of luxury residential interior design and custom furnishings.
- Ability to develop and execute projects through all phases including concept, design development, construction documentation, procurement, installation, and styling.
- Experience coordinating with architects, contractors, consultants, and trades.
- Knowledge of residential construction processes, specifications, and technical detailing.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Google Workspace. Experience with Studio Designer preferred.
- Excellent organizational, written communication, and presentation skills.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field preferred.
- 5–10+ years of residential interior design experience.
- Experience independently managing luxury residential projects from concept through installation.
- Strong construction administration and project coordination experience preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD required.
- Studio Designer experience preferred.
