John Ferguson Interiors is seeking a full-time Procurement & Operations Manager to join our growing New York-based studio. This key role oversees FF&E procurement, project logistics, procurement budgets, and the operational systems that support projects from approved proposal through installation.
Working closely with the Principal and design team, you'll ensure projects move efficiently, vendors are managed proactively, budgets are monitored, and every detail is executed with accuracy and professionalism. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-end residential design environment.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Logistics
Manage FF&E procurement from approved proposal through installation.
Prepare purchase orders and procurement documentation.
Obtain and review vendor quotations.
Track production schedules, lead times, deliveries, and order status.
Coordinate with vendors, workrooms, fabricators, receivers, freight companies, and installers.
Resolve production, shipping, and delivery issues proactively.
Maintain procurement records in Studio Designer.
Monitor procurement budgets and communicate variances.
Collaborate with the Principal and Senior Interior Designer to maintain design intent.
Operations
Oversee day-to-day studio operations.
Maintain project documentation, digital files, and procurement records.
Coordinate shipping, office supplies, and the materials library.
Support presentations and help maintain an organized studio.
Improve studio systems and workflows.
Project Coordination
Coordinate installation schedules and logistics.
Monitor procurement schedules to keep projects on track.
Build strong vendor relationships.
Resolve logistical challenges before they impact timelines.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in FF&E procurement, studio operations, or project coordination within a high-end residential interior design studio.
Experience working in New York City's luxury residential interior design industry is required.
Proficiency with Studio Designer is required.
Experience at an AD100 or similarly recognized design studio is strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of FF&E procurement from proposal through installation.
Experience managing procurement budgets and tracking project expenditures.
Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Established relationships with New York vendors, workrooms, fabricators, receivers, warehouses, and white-glove delivery partners are a significant advantage.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Interior Design, Arts Administration, or a related field preferred.
