Chused & Co is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Junior Designer who excels in a fast-paced environment. Working closely with a Senior Designer in a collaborative two-person team, the Junior Designer will provide support across all phases of the design process, with a primary focus on procurement, documentation, and project coordination.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Presentation Preparation: Support the development of client presentations by gathering samples, assisting with design concepts, and contributing to the overall presentation layout. Architectural drafting (CAD) of floor plans, furniture plans, elevations and details
• Project Organization: Maintain well-organized client binders, project schedules, and coordinate deliveries, ensuring projects stay on track.
• Vendor Coordination: Follow up with vendors on lead times, shipments, deliveries, and quotes. Proactively resolve any issues related to delivery, orders, or project timelines with a solution-oriented approach.
• Client Meeting Participation: Support Senior Designer by taking detailed meeting notes in client meetings. Organize next steps in concise feedback emails to Senior and Principal.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have an interior design or architecture degree from accredited university.
• Must have at least 2 years of residential design experience at an interior or architectural firm.
• Must have experience with an ordering and procurement software such as Studio Designer.
• Possesses a proactive mindset, anticipating potential obstacles and developing solutions to address them.
• Demonstrates the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently, ensuring that all projects are completed within set deadlines. Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously without compromising on quality or accuracy.
• Advanced Proficiency in Design Software such as CAD, SketchUp, and other rendering programs.
• Must have valid driver’s license and comfortable driving in both NYC and outside of the city.
