Job Description

This position provides assistance and collaboration with all design staff. In addition, this position supports the design development and delivery of projects from concept to expediting to installation. Specific responsibilities include performing computer and manual drafting, assisting in the selection of furnishings, finishes, textiles, accessories and lighting, assisting in the expediting of the purchasing phase of the project, maintaining logs, records and communication documents to track the progress of the projects.

Responsibilities
• Direct collaboration with the Principal and Senior Designers to develop conceptual designs and see long-term design projects with high-end clientele from concept to completion.
• Strengths must include sourcing, selecting, and specifying furnishings, finishes, and fixtures new, antique, and custom
• Drive project coordination through communication with vendors, GCs, clients, etc.
• Sound knowledge and experience of construction document sets required as well as custom millwork and furniture design; architectural finishes and details
• Preparation of material and finish schedules as well as site supervision, construction management and vendor expediting
• Coordinate with vendors to ensure proper execution of design concepts, pricing, and timely deliverables
• Highly detailed and organized and want to take charge of a project with limited supervision
• Project administration: request quotes, pricing, samples from vendors, ordering and paying for items for clients, creating proposals for clients, preparing client presentations for meetings, purchase orders, requesting CFAs and placing fabric reserves, and picking-up/dropping-off samples
• Attend client meetings, providing note-taking, and general support of colleagues

Job Requirements

• Degree in Interior Design
• 2-4 years high-end residential design experience
• AutoCAD aptitude and space planning strength are required
• Excellent (and articulate) communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Studio Designer, Microsoft Office, Photoshop, and InDesign
• Knowledge of local/national vendors and experience with custom furniture
• Strength in sketching
• Detail oriented in an extremely fast-paced environment
• Valid US Driver’s License required
