The Junior Designer works directly with a Senior Interior Designer or Project Designer on all aspects of assigned design projects throughout all phases of the design process – from concept development through installation. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, capable of working efficiently and independently, and who possesses a refined aesthetic sensibility in line with high-end design principles.
Essential Functions
• Point person for daily communication with build team and client on assigned projects.
• Attends selection meetings with lead designer when required.
• Responsible for project organization (physical samples, project binders, and digital folders).
• Assists with FF&E selections and hard selections.
• Reviews weekly expediting reports.
• Responsible for sending weekly updates to clients.
• Prepares design presentation boards and item tearsheets.
• Prices and enters items into Studio Designer.
• Prepares, packs/loads, and attends client installations.
Skills and Abilities Required
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe InDesign or Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of Studio Designer is helpful but not required.
• Must be extremely well-rounded, with strong time-management and organizational skills.
• Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel locally for sourcing, site meetings and installations.
Education and Experience Required
• Bachelor of Arts/Science Degree in Interior Design from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience at a design firm.
