Monika Kaplan Design is a small, high-end residential interior design studio located in Marin County, just outside of San Francisco. We are looking to add a CAD designer to our team who is interested in growing their role in a rapidly developing design studio. As a Junior CAD Designer, you would be responsible for delivering detailed and accurate technical and construction drawings, interior elevations as well as developing renderings for design presentations and builder accuracy. You will work directly with the principal designer on multiple projects at a time. You will interface with clients and vendors on the development of design presentations, FFE selections, schedules, procurement and project management. This position is a hybrid work position consisting of remote work and client site and vendor site work. Our ideal candidate will be highly proficient in AutoCAD/SketchUp, will be detail oriented and have excellent communication skills.

Job Requirements:
- Assist studio principal to develop furniture plans, reflected ceiling plans, interior elevations, full permit and construction sets.
- Maintain current and accurate project presentations and drawings as projects evolve to completion
- Develop client presentations and maintain client design binders
- Develop imagery, curate design schemes, and prepare specifications packages
- Research, source and specify materials, furnishing, lighting, fabric, and finishes
- Create and manage all FF&E schedules including tile, plumbing, door, window, hardware, lighting, etc.
- Attend site visits, client meetings, and internal meetings with studio principal documenting all notes and pictures
taken during all meetings
- Enter specifications in Studio Designer and assist in preparation of proposals, executing purchase orders and
expediting

- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or BFA in Interior Design, or a similar discipline
- Minimum 2-3 years of previous work experience in interior design or a related field
- Highly proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit
- Strong Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Proficiency in Studio Designer preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills, including keeping track of instructions and revisions of drawings
- Impeccable written, verbal, and graphic communications skills to correspond purposefully with clients, internal team members,
vendors, and trades
- Must be a self-starter and possess an excellent time management skill
