Job Description

Dumais Interiors is seeking an Intermediate Designer/Project Coordinator to join our growing team. This position requires the ability to think strategically and methodically in a creative environment and will play a key role assisting in the management of our projects as well as production of our construction and decorative drawings. This position will work alongside our senior staff as a team player and have autonomy to work independently managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Ideal Qualifications:
3-5 years of work experience in the industry, with specific experience in residential design.
Strong background and understanding of custom fabrication.
Excellent project management skills and experience with construction management
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards.
Ability to travel. Local Driving will be required.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Design Development and Documentation:
Develop architectural layouts, concept/mood strategies, implementing them from concept phase through project execution.
Collaborate with the Principal and Project Designers on all presentations.
Produce technical and construction documentation, including plans, elevations, architectural/millwork details, and custom furniture and lighting drawings, to illustrate design intent and material usage for residential projects.
Review shop drawings and collaborate with consultants, contractors, and fabricators to meet project objectives.
Assist in producing scopes of work to obtain contractor bids and review all bids for accuracy.
Assist in producing drawings and scopes of work to attain alteration agreements; liaise with Building Managers to obtain alteration approvals.
Interface directly with clients to facilitate project objectives.
Take initiative and incur responsibility for projects, including budgets, schedules, meetings, and deadlines.
Work closely with the internal design team to coordinate architectural design with interior design FF&E, managing lead times, budgets, quantities, and finishes.
Identify, select, and specify interior finishes, materials, furniture & soft furnishings.
Work closely with the Procurement Manager to oversee project orders and installation deadlines.
Create, manage, and oversee the execution of construction and decoration punch lists.
