Job Description

Charlap Hyman & Herrero is seeking a motivated and experienced full time, New York based Finance Manager to support our interior design team, manage client and vendor accounts and relationships and report to Principal on internal costs and projecting. 

Oversee 30+ Interiors projects at a time in a fast-paced, creative environment leading the Operations Team on analyzing, strategizing, managing and projecting all client, vendor and marketing accounts. 

CHH’s Principals have been featured in Forbes Magazine’s “30 Under 30” in its 2018 category for art and style, and the firm ranks among Architectural Digest's "AD100," PIN-UP Magazine’s “New Power Generation,” and AN Interior's “Top 50.” CHH was selected to participate in the 2017 Chicago Architecture Biennial and won the annual competition hosted by the Miami Design District to design innovative holiday decorations for the neighborhood. In 2020, CHH was the recipient of the AIA Los Angeles Emerging Practice Award, the highest honor the organization bestows on an emerging architecture firm for consistently producing innovative work. CHH has collaborated on lines of fabrics, rugs, wallpapers, and other products with top furnishings companies and continues to expand its range.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities

● Track and record all credit card charges and wire and check deposits and payments 
● Develop internal schedules and systems for client billing 
● Bill, collect and manage client invoices for design fees monthly 
● Track incoming client payments for FFE on an as-needed basis 
● Apply vendor and client payments for FFE regularly 
● Manage and bill client reimbursable expenses 
● Work intimately with Project Leads to ensure project accounts are up to date 
● Ensure design teams' receipts, orders and hours are input correctly for invoicing accuracy 
● Manage and report office expenses
● Work with an outside accountant and various consultants when needed
● Report to Principal and Project Leads on project profitability and forecasting 
● Report to Principal on CHH Products profitability and strategy  
● Track internal interiors consulting hours with the Architecture Team and architecture consulting hours with the Interiors Team
● Maintain CHH internal office expenses and budgets 
● Maintain CHH standards and optimism 
● Report internal budget and profit reports to the Design Leads and Principal monthly 
● Report external project balance reports to Design Leads and clients monthly 
● Research and project hours for new potential projects and contracts 
● Understand tax rates per client and per project location
● Compile research into graphs, charts, etc. when needed 
● Track sales of all CHH Products marketing efforts and contracts 

Qualifications

● Experience in a hands on, fast-paced environment a must 
● 5+ years accounting experience
● Experience in leading, systemizing and strategizing creative teams, a must 
● Work in Studio Designer, a must
● Work in interior design, architecture or interior decor ideal
● Ability to work in-office, full-time
