The Interior Designer role will lead assigned design projects with next-level creativity, build lasting relationships with the client, and provide a luxury experience for the client from immersion to final installation. The Lead Designer is an artistic and technical mentor who manages a team of creatives to bring a client’s vision to reality. This role will manage administrative tasks, project management, and proactively delegate tasks to keep the design project on and ahead of schedule. The Interior Designer role is a full-time, exempt, managing position; listed as a direct hire.
OUTLINE // This position is offered in a Hybrid model, 2-3 days onsite weekly in Newport Beach, CA is preferred. The target compensation range for this position is $75-80k/annually.
+ Leadership // Thoroughly leads design projects, manages assigned design team support as a mentor, is persistent with time management, and inspires both professional and creative development. Serves the team as a role model and promotes positivity and company inclusion.
+ Presentations // Leads the client through intentionality and creative approach. Strong storytelling, relationship-building, and impeccable delivery skills are required.
+ Systems // Advanced Proficiency with SketchUp and AutoCAD systems. Ability to train and knowledge share with more junior designers.
+ Client-facing // Builds trust with high-end clients through confident delivery and approachability. Leads client calls and meetings professionally, creatively, and collaboratively.
+ Manage & Develop // Identifies opportunities for junior designers to lead and develop. Serves as a role model of excellent customer service, and provides constructive notes to elevate the design team’s delivery.
+ Budgeting // Maintains an understanding of job budget and materials knowledge in partnership with clients
+ Proposals // Reviews all proposals and invoices before sending them to the Project Manager/Design Coordinator team for review.
+ Interior Design Certificate and Bachelors Degree, preferred
+ At least 6 years experience in the Interior Design industry with knowledge of general principles of design and construction documents
+ At least 4 years of experience with Construction Project Management
+ At least 3-5 years of leadership experience; directly leading a team of creatives
+ Expert/Advanced proficiency in CAD and Sketch-Up
+ Creative and comfortable in presentation software, Keynote preferred
+ Familiar with Proposal and ERP Systems, such as Ivy, Houzz Pro, and NetSuite
+ Ability to manage, mentor, and develop a team of creatives
+ Impeccable storytelling, excellent communication skills, and creative approach to “managing up”
