Job Description

NYC-based boutique residential design firm seeks an experienced and talented interior designer with a background in designing and managing projects involving architectural design, including producing quality technical drawings, renderings and project management. The ideal candidate is eager to contribute in a meaningful way to the firm's large-scale projects and, in turn, grow in their career as a designer.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities:

· Oversee projects from design concept to the completed installation under the guidance of a Senior Interior Designer and the firm's
Principal
· Source furniture, fabrics, fixtures, and finishes according to the project objectives and the Principal’s design vision
· Prepare, review, and maintain design documents including plans, specifications, schedules, and shop drawings
· Create accurate design proposals for submission to clients
· Complete all aspects of the specification process (sourcing, quoting, proposals, etc.)
· Manage and maintain continued communication with the Principal, Project Manager, design team staff, and vendors regarding the project
timelines, tracking, lead times, custom orders, installations, and other project-related information
· Communicate in a quality and timely manner with vendors and clients regarding project logistics

Requirements:

· 3+ years of professional experience in interior design and architecture
· Bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture or related field
· Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds max, Adobe Suite and related design programs to produce drawings
· Understanding of distinct design styles and periods
· Possess a known repertoire of design showrooms, online sources, galleries, etc.
· Maintain a proactive, motivated and positive approach
· Apply critical thinking skills and independent judgment in the course of daily interactions with peers, clients, and vendors
· Ability to create inspiring and organized storyboards
· Attend site visits and installations as needed
· Experience working with GC's and other vendor partners to manage construction and installation process
· Superior written and verbal communication skills

This position is hybrid office, in the field and remote, as the business requires.
