Job Description

Dumais Interiors is seeking an Interior Designer to join our team. This position requires the ability to think strategically and methodically in a creative environment and will play a key role assisting in the management of our projects as well as production of our construction and decorative drawings. This position will work alongside our Principal and Studio Director as a team player, manage Jr. staff and have autonomy to work independently managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Ideal Qualifications:

­ 3-6 years of work experience in the industry, with specific experience in residential design.
­ Strong background and understanding of custom fabrication and decorative trades.
­ Excellent project management skills and experience with construction management
­ Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
­ Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Studio Designer, Monograph etc.).
­ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
­ Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
­ Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards.
­ Ability to travel. Local driving may be required pending projects location.

Job Requirements

­ Develop a creative vision for newly acquired projects alongside the Principal Designer. Establish a concept and gather mood imagery at the project's onset, seamlessly incorporating it into the design until completion.
­ Produce and oversee the production of all drawings and specification packages including plans, elevations, architectural/millwork details, lighting drawings and custom furniture, to illustrate design intent and material usage for client presentation and vendor fabrication.
­ Identify, select, and specify all decorative and architectural finishes, materials, furnishings, lighting, hardware, plumbing, accessories and art. Coordinate with vendors and consultants on such items as necessary.
­ Assist Principal, and other team members in client presentations and meetings. Communicate design ideas and concepts clearly and confidently.
­ Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously and independently. Take initiative and incur responsibility for all project related tasks including design, budget, schedule, meetings, deadlines and installation.
­ Work closely with the Procurement team to develop client proposals and purchase orders, project budgets and FF&E schedules. Consistently update all budget and tracking documents to ensure items are progressing as planned for installation.
­ Review all shop drawings and work orders for custom millwork, furniture, window treatments, etc. Produce working drawings for vendors and consultants when necessary.
­ Lead the construction administration phase of designated projects. Conduct site visits, address technical issues, and maintain quality control during construction to ensure finished products meets design intent.
­ Assign and delegate tasks to junior design staff. Supervise junior staff to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in a timely and precise manner.
