AD100 firm Gregory Rockwell Interiors is seeking a Junior Interior Architect to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to develop within a highly collaborative, design-driven environment focused on high-end residential work. Our projects span across the country, with current work in the New York area, Texas, and California.
The Junior Interior Architect will work closely under the guidance of senior staff, supporting the development and execution of projects from early design through installation. Responsibilities include assisting with the preparation of design drawings and presentation materials, developing plans, elevations, and details, and helping translate design concepts into clear, coordinated documentation. You will contribute to material and finish research, sourcing, and specifications, while maintaining an organized and thoughtful approach to project information.
This role also involves coordination with internal team members as well as external consultants, vendors, and fabricators to ensure that design intent is carried through each phase of the project. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and interested in understanding both the creative and technical aspects of interior architecture. As part of a small and expanding firm, you will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and play a meaningful role in shaping the systems and processes that support our work.
Candidates should have a degree in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field, with a strong foundation in drafting and spatial planning. Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential, along with the ability to produce clear, accurate drawings including plans, elevations, and basic details. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) and SketchUp or similar 3D modeling tools is preferred.
A strong design sensibility and an understanding of high-end residential interiors are important, along with an appreciation for materials, proportion, and detail. Candidates should be organized, responsive, and capable of managing multiple tasks across different projects. Clear communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for collaborating with team members and external partners.
We are looking for someone who is curious, engaged, and motivated to grow within a professional studio environment. The ability to take direction, ask thoughtful questions, and contribute meaningfully to a team is key. Experience with construction documentation, vendor coordination, or site visits is a plus, though not required.
This is an opportunity to join a small, focused firm that values rigor, clarity, and design excellence, with an emphasis on building a thoughtful and efficient practice as we continue to expand.
Gregory Rockwell Interiors is an AD100 interior design firm recognized for its refined, thoughtful approach to high-end residential design. Founded nearly nine years ago, the studio has built a reputation for creating layered, timeless interiors that balance classical sensibility with a modern point of view. Each project is approached with a focus on clarity, proportion, and materiality, resulting in spaces that feel both sophisticated and deeply livable.
Our work spans a range of residences across the country, with current projects in the New York area, Texas, California, Colorado, Florida, and Maine. We collaborate closely with clients, architects, and artisans to develop highly tailored environments, often integrating custom furniture, millwork, and carefully sourced antiques. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality guide every phase of the process, from concept through installation.
As a growing studio, Gregory Rockwell Interiors is focused on building a strong internal structure that supports both creative excellence and efficient execution. We value a collaborative, team-oriented environment where ideas are shared openly and each member contributes to the evolution of the firm.
