Job Description

Erica Burns Interiors, a high-end residential interior design firm, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Designer to join our team on a short-term (6 month) basis, with potential for the position to become long-term. This person will work collaboratively with the Lead Designer and Project Manager to bring the design vision to reality and ensure the overall success of the project. The position is full-time and in-person, based out of our Washington, DC office. Responsibilities will include:

- Work with the Lead Designer and Project Manager to execute projects through all phases, from design concept to furnishings installation.
- Work with the Lead Designer and Project Manager to meet client needs and objectives, including budget and schedule.
- Serve as one of the main points of contact for the client, architect/contractor, and vendors.
- Source all finishes and fixtures, furnishings, art, and accessories for projects.
- Create all client presentations for all specified furnishings.
- Draft floor plans, interior elevations, and custom furniture.
- Attend all site visits and client meetings.
- Work with outside architects and contractors to develop and execute design plans.
- Proactively identify problems and generate solutions.

Job Requirements

- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working for a high-end residential design firm is required.
- Extensive experience using AutoCAD to create 2D floor plans and elevations.
- Experience using Studio Designer (or similar software) is preferred, but not required.
- Experience using InDesign.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and English language skills.
- Excellent computer skills and familiarity with Google Sheets.
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Able to work independently and solve problems creatively.
- Able to interact effectively with the Lead Designer, project manager, subcontractors, and workrooms.
- Access to a car (projects are located throughout Washington, DC, MD, and VA).
