Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Business Operations & Administration to oversee the operations of our well-established interior design firm. This leadership role partners closely with the Principal and Studio Director to ensure the business runs smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with creative excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Business & Financial Operations
• Serve as a key advisor to the Principal on all aspects of business operations.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial reporting in collaboration with the accounting team.
• Track project profitability and ensure team resourcing aligns with client budgets and timelines.
• Oversee client contracts, vendor agreements, and consultant relationships to ensure legal and financial integrity.
• Liaise with external accountants, legal counsel, and insurance providers.
Office & Administrative Management
• Oversee daily office operations including facilities, IT coordination, and front desk/reception.
• Ensure a professional, organized, and well-supported work environment.
• Procure and manage office resources and vendor relationships with an eye on cost-effectiveness and quality service.
Human Resources
• Lead all HR functions, including hiring, onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, and performance reviews.
• Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with HR policies and practices.
• Foster a supportive, communicative, and high-performance team culture.

Job Requirements

Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in operations or administrative leadership, ideally in a creative/design-based business.
• Strong expertise in business administration, HR/payroll (preferably with ADP), and office operations.
• Outstanding organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
• Discreet, professional, and comfortable navigating a busy, in-office workplace.
