Job Description

We are excited to share that we have an opening for a full-time designer with our residential team in Austin. We are a small but mighty, award-winning, passionate, creative, collaborative, dog-loving, hard-working, close-knit, caring team with a deep passion for bringing the absolute best to our clients through highly creative, technically proficient designs coupled with exceptional client service and project management. We are fiercely protective of our work culture and seek only the most passionate, fun, creative, hard-working, collaborative, fearless and fun-loving to work with us. While we value bringing in new designers to the industry, right now we have an opening ONLY FOR APPLICANTS WITH AN ACCREDITED INTERIOR DESIGN DEGREE AND 2-4 YEARS OF DESIGN EXPERIENCE AT LEAST. You must be available to work in the US and in-person at our offices in Austin. Do not apply unless you meet these criteria.

Given we are seeking someone with residential interior design experience, this candidate will likely already have a sense of what is expected for this role, but one should expect to create design concepts, develop detailed CAD and 3D sketch ups, be able to effectively communicate via phone, email and in-person with clients, trade partners, builders and craftspeople. Our work includes new builds and renovations and requires you have experience in drawing detailed plans, know your way around a job-site and have experience managing construction projects through to install. You must have experience specifying interiors, designing kitchens, bathrooms as well as completing furniture plans and ff&e. You must be able to adhere to project timelines and budgets, be aware of safety and building codes, manage and resolve issues that arise, present ideas to the team, work collaboratively with internal team members, architects, engineers, clients, builders, trade persons and our dogs. You should be passionate about design and continually strive to stay updated on industry trends.

Job Requirements

You must be exceptionally proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite and have a strong portfolio showcasing a compatible design style and showcase relevant residential projects. Prior experience with Studio Designer and Asana is a major plus. Excellent communication and presentation skills are expected. Experience in hospitality is not required, but a bonus, as we take on hospitality clients on occasion. Be attentive to details, good at listening and problem solving. Know how to solve problems and when to seek guidance from supervisors - in other words, work well on your own and as part of the team. Be able to juggle multiple projects and guide your own time management and organization. If you don't like working with a team, aren't fun to be around and don't like dogs, we probably aren't going to be a good fit. If the rest of it sounds like you, please reach out, we'd love to meet you.
