We are seeking a skilled CAD Drafter to translate client-provided sketches, reference photos, and
design specifications into detailed, CAD drawings. This role requires an excellent
eye for detail, strong spatial awareness, and an understanding of furniture design, construction and
upholstery.
Responsibilities:
- Convert hand-drawn sketches, client photos, and rough concepts into precise 2D CAD drawings
and, when needed, 3D renderings.
- Ensure drawings are accurate, proportionate, and technically sound for production.
- Collaborate with our production team to confirm feasibility and design specifications.
- Revise and refine drawings based on client feedback and internal adjustments.
- Maintain a library of standard components and design templates for efficiency
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other industry-standard CAD software.
- Experience in custom furniture, and upholstery design.
- Ability to interpret design intent from minimal input (e.g., hand sketches, photos, verbal
descriptions).
- An understanding of woodworking, joinery, and upholstery construction methods.
- Experience working in a high-end, detail-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with Production Manager and anticipate Design intention.
