Job Description

We are seeking dynamic individuals to join our newest showroom location at the New York Design Center! This opportunity will be about growth and expansion as we establish our brand in its new NYC home. The ideal candidate has interest in and understanding of the luxury home furniture industry. They have worked in or with the interior design trade and can appreciate the challenges that go along with a project. They have a sales background that allows them to appropriately identify the needs of both new and current customers in order to aid them in their success using our products.

-Oversee furniture and fabric sales directly with clients on the showroom floor to create sales opportunities and build ongoing client relationships.
-Coordinate and correspond with 3rd party vendors – including stock checks, preparing production orders and invoices, etc.
-Reach out to customers and foster relationships outside of the showroom with clients to increase awareness of and interest in new products, upcoming sales, and showroom events.
-Manage showroom display set-ups and merchandise tracking, including tagging, setting up wings, arranging displays.
-Track sales trends and data based on actual client sales to assist with trend forecasting and buying decisions.
-Track and follow up on all fabric and furniture memos.
-Organize and stock as needed.
-Answer phones and greet customers.
-Arrange for pick-ups and deliveries to and from clients’ locations, the company warehouse, etc.
-Assist with opening and closing duties.
-Salary + commission.
-Other special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

-Minimum 2 Years experience selling luxury home goods.
-Knowledge of all home good products in our current portfolio.
-Existing relationships at interior design firms.
-Sales experience in fast paced situations, both face-to-face and virtually.
-Be extremely organized and accurate, and able to wear many hats.
-Able to work in a team environment where helping your peers is essential to reaching commission goals.
-Have a sense of humor and positive attitude.

MEET PETER
Peter Dunham was raised in France and educated in England at Stowe. He read modern languages at Exeter College, and business administration at the American University in Paris. After graduating he worked in real estate in New York City.

Peter moved to Los Angeles in 1998 and immediately started his interior design company. In 2003 he launched his eponymous fabric and wallpaper collection, now sold through 16 showrooms worldwide. To house a growing collection of handcrafted furniture, textiles and vintage finds, Peter opened Hollywood at Home in 2007. Located in the Los Angeles design district, it has become a leading destination for design lovers.

Peter is always on the hunt for inspiration for new textiles and wallpapers, traveling the world every year and finding ideas abroad as well as in his own backyard. His travels as a young man to India, European upbringing, and California lifestyle inform our fabrics and wallpaper, creating a collection that celebrates adventure, history, color, pattern, and a relaxed sophistication.

Peter Dunham Textiles & Wallpaper, our sibling company, is Peter’s line of colorful fabrics and wall coverings inspired by his world travels. The collection, which was established nearly 15 years ago, has grown from a few printed linens to a robust offering of prints, indoor/outdoor wovens, outdoor prints, wallpaper, and hand-printed grasscloth wallcoverings.
