3D Designer & Technical Drafter
High-End Residential Interior Design Studio | New York City
Valerie Peña Studio is seeking a talented, highly skilled, and detail-oriented 3D Designer & Technical Drafter to join our growing interior design studio.
The primary focus of this position is 3D modeling, visualization, and construction documentation. We are looking for someone who is exceptionally proficient in SketchUp and Rhino, with the ability to translate design concepts, sketches, and creative direction into accurate, detailed, and beautifully presented drawings and models.
The ideal candidate is highly technical but also has a strong design eye. They are fast, organized, resourceful, and comfortable working within the evolving pace of a boutique interior design studio.
Primary Responsibilities
• Create detailed 3D models in SketchUp and Rhino
• Produce accurate construction drawings and documentation
• Translate our designs, sketches, and markups into clear drawings and models
• Create high-quality renderings and presentations quickly
• Assist with floor plans, elevations, millwork drawings, furniture layouts, and interior details
• Use Photoshop to refine renderings and presentations
• Work closely with the Principal and design team to bring our ideas to life
• Be flexible and happy to jump in wherever the studio needs support
Qualifications
• Highly skilled in SketchUp and Rhino
• Strong experience with construction drawings and documentation
• Proficient in Photoshop and rendering software
• A strong understanding of interiors, millwork, materials, scale, and construction details
• Fast, organized, proactive, and very detail-oriented
• Able to manage multiple projects and revisions efficiently
• A strong design eye and appreciation for high-end residential interiors
• Collaborative, resourceful, and comfortable working within a small, hands-on studio
